Centre for Research and Technology Hellas / Informatics and Telematics Institute

The Informatics and Telematics Institute (ITI) was founded in 1998 in Thessaloniki as a non-profit organisation under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of Greece. Since 2000 ITI is a founding member of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH).

ITI exhibits substantial research activity, both basic and industry-oriented, as well as technology transfer actions in areas, like multimedia, internet, distributed networks, compiutes systems, telemedicine, digital and interactive television etc.

Until today ITI has participated in 59 projects funded by the European Union and in 79 projects funded by Greek National Programmes. ITI is currently participating in 26 EC IST projects and more than 50 National projects, and is the co-coordinator of 4 EC IST projects. Over the last six years, the ITI research team has authored numerous publications in scientific journals and a large number of presentations to international conferences.


National University of Ireland, Galway


 

Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) at the National University of Ireland in Galway is one of the world’s leading organisations in the area of Semantic Web and Semantic Web Services. Its mission is to create the future of the Internet by providing the Web with frameworks and technologies for machine-readable information and for Web Services, both of which are enhanced with semantic descriptions.  Semantic descriptions allow for the total or partial automation of tasks such as discovery, selection, mediation, composition and invocation of services. Research in DERI is focused on developing the underlying technological platforms, middleware components, and domain specific solutions to support the full realisation of an Internet-mediated business, science, government and society with the aim of evolving Semantic Web and Web Services into a mature technology.



 

Leopold-Franzens University, Innsbruck

Leopold-Franzens University, Innsbruck (LFUI) is one of the major research institutions in the area of Semantic Web and Semantic Web services technology worldwide managed by Prof. Dieter Fensel, who is one of the leading experts in this field and has a strong record in successfully undertaking IST projects.



STI Innsbruck is a research institute at the University of Innsbruck engaged in research and development to bring information and communication technologies of the future into today's world.STI Innsbruck is actively involved in multiple national and EU funded projects, with these projects enabling them to meet society's demand for innovative technological developments and to contribute back scientifically to supporters, sponsors and society.


Sirma Group Corp.

 

Sirma Group Corp. (http://www.ontotext.com) is a knowledge and language engineering lab of Sirma AI. SIRMA is focused on research and core technology development for knowledge discovery, management, and engineering, targeted to applications in Semantic Web and Web Services. University of Rome “La Sapienza”

The Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica "Antonio Ruberti" of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" is devoted to the development of advanced researches, innovative applications and professional skills in three main areas: information technology, automation and automatic control, operations research and management. The work related to Semantic-Gov are carried out by MidLab a laboratory on middleware technology which is one of the most active academic laboratories in distributed systems through Europe.

Region of Central Macedonia

Ministry of Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization

The Ministry of the Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization has the initiative of public policy design and implementation on organizational, functional and clerical staffing issues throughout the Hellenic Public Sector. The General Secretariat of Public Administration and e-Government is part of the organizational body of the Ministry and has the responsibility for the design and implementation of horizontal policies on e-Government issues.
